Our Construction Process in Houston, TX
Four steps, the same on a single bathroom and on a ground-up house. What changes is the duration, not the sequence.
The same four steps every time
The sequence below runs the same way on a single bathroom and on a ground-up house. What changes is how long each step takes, not the order they happen in.
From first call to final walk
The Walkthrough
We come to the property and look at the actual space. Measurements are taken on site, because a bid built from photographs is a guess, and guesses are what reappear as change orders once the walls are open.
The Written Estimate
You receive a document with scope, material allowances, exclusions and a schedule, free and with no obligation.
Permits and the Build
Permitted work is pulled in the company name and inspections are met on site. Where that permit comes from depends on your address: the City of Houston Permitting Center for work inside city limits, unincorporated Harris County for much of Cypress, Spring and the Champions area, and separate city offices for Jersey Village and South Houston.
The Walk and the Close
We walk the finished work together and write down every item that needs correction, however small. That list gets completed before the final invoice, not after it.

Frequently asked questions
We pull the permits in the company name and meet the inspectors on site, so it is not on you. Work inside city limits goes through the City of Houston Permitting Center, while Cypress, Spring and much of the Champions area fall under unincorporated Harris County. Jersey Village and South Houston run their own offices. Each has its own timeline.
Work stops on that item, we show you what was found, and you get a written change order before it goes any further. Open walls in older Houston homes routinely reveal cast iron drain lines, undersized wiring or water damage that nobody could see at the estimate. Handling it in writing keeps the surprise from becoming an argument at final invoice.
Projects are priced as a written scope with stated material allowances, not as an open hourly ticket. Allowances cover the items you have not selected yet, such as tile, fixtures and countertops, and any difference between the allowance and your final selection is settled transparently. Payment follows a schedule tied to phases of completion rather than a single up-front sum.
Duration depends on scope and on the permit path, so we put a schedule in the estimate rather than quoting a generic number. What we can say plainly is that permit review, material lead times and HOA architectural approval are the three things that most often stretch a Houston schedule, and all three get built into the plan before work starts.
One person stays with your job from the first walkthrough through the final punch list. That person schedules the trades, meets inspectors and answers your questions, so you are never re-explaining the project. Crews rotate by phase because framing and tile setting are different skills, but your contact does not change.
